El Potro: A Taste of Authentic Mexican Cuisine and Cocktails in Corpus Christi

Came here for lunch after the rush. I ordered the plate with tamales and enchiladas. This is one of the few places that has tamales on their menu. The food took a little longer than I expected to come out considering we were about the only people in there, but when it did come out it was hot and the food delicious. I look forward to coming back.

Been here 3 times now and have always had a good experience... staff is always kind and attentive, food is pretty decent and good menu to choose from... we have been back again and still a great place.. staff is always amazing..

Employees are always so nice and the service is great. Breakfast plates are very tasty.

I stopped here for breakfast this morning. I ordered a breakfast taco and coffee. The waitress was very nice and friendly. The taco tasted good. There ranchero-hot sauce is very good. It has just the right amount of heat and flavor. I hope to be able to come back and try out their evening menu on day.

I eat breakfast 6 days a week, and the breakfast tacos are great. They offer a breakfast special every morning. I believe the Friday taco is my favorite (napoles). The service is the best in Corpus.

We go here to get Tortilla soup because it’s the Best Tortilla soup, we went and ordered a small and were told they can no longer sell smalls. We were bummed but we still said ok will get a large . The next time we went back the gentleman said oh no I’m sorry we Can sell a small to you after all. And I said oh great thank you. Well couple weeks later we went back on January 20 at about 11.30 am we drove through asked for a small soup and the lady said only large and I tried to explain but she said only large so I said ok that’s fine. Got up to the window. She wasn’t there . 3 cars pulled up behind me. They took almost 20 mi s for one large soup it’s Never took that long. When she came to the window there was no apology nothing! Plus she had all the other orders in her hand for the cars behind me so she must have waited for all them to get done before bringing my soup!! The gentleman are very nice at the window but for some reason the lady was rude and she didn’t speak at all. Such a bad experience from our favorite place. I hope she is not there when we go again. She needs to be re trained.

We have visited this establishment on several occasions and have found the food to be of a satisfactory standard. The ambiance is pleasant and the service we received was both prompt and courteous. While the birra tacos were adequately seasoned, they did not quite meet my personal preferences. I intend to return and sample a wider variety of dishes in the hope of discovering a dish that I truly enjoy.

Very clean, staff was not very friendly but they were attentive. Hubby had the number 31.. Fajitas with tarasco sauce and I had the number 21 the combination plate. The #31 was amazing!!!!! The #21 was OK not the best but definitely not the worst combination plate I have eaten.
